How to remove the spark plug wires, checking for proper tightness (force required to pull off). Then to check for proper color fouling etc.. Then decide wether to clean and reinstall the spark plugs or to replace with new ones. If cleaning is chosen describe the best method of doing that. Either option requires re-gaping the spark plugs, show how to do this. And then show installation techniques with heat transfer paste and torque specs.

I'd like to a video covering considerations and differences when installing two 912is Sports in a twin. Switch panel needs/ options and fuel system options specifically. Is the Aircam the only twin using injected 912’s ?

Category: Repair

Title: Oil Pressure Sender - Changing from obsolete part (Honeywell) to Rotax 465-180
Related document: SI-912-020 R8 Running Changes
Section: 79-00-00

There have been some cases where oil pressure sender units have failed and need to be replaced.
SI-912-020 describes a change of the oil sender unit.
Unfortunately, there are several critical issues associated with the change which affects customers.
For example, the new oil pressure sender has a metric thread size M10x1. The old sender has a NPT thread. Users are trying to screw the M10 sender into the NPT thread.
Some posts suggest this is OK. It is not OK. The SI advises the oil pump housing must be changed or the old housing must be re-tapped to M10.

There are also electrical changes to be completed. The wiring and plugs are different between the old sender and new sender.

I think a lot of owners would benefit from a video to describe these differences and how to change the sender units during repair or maintenance work.

Thanks for continuing to enhance the range of videos. The customers really appreciate this support.

Could we have some more technical information on the 912iS?
A walkthrough of the BUDS data logging download procedure would be helpful.

At the risk of sounding slightly negative and facetious, this threads been on the go for a while now, with (from my perspective) lots of good and useful suggestions. Yet despite this the production line of new material has been somewhat, frugal, during that same period. No doubt there are various reasons / excuses, and this will no doubt jolt a few replies, however my suggestion is.

How about making some new videos based on the suggestions ?

Recently I have come access two different owners who had fuel injectors clog while in flight despite installation of 10 micron fuel filter. May I suggest a video on how to inspect and clean the fuel injection system for contaminants.

Thank you for considering.
