Hi. I was expecting on my 912UL low oil pressure on crusing RPM when oil is about 100-110*C.
I had around 2bar with is on the edge of green and yellow.
I installed 227055 regulating washer and two thinks happend:

1. Oil pressure on cold start is rising up to 7 and slowly decrease down to 5bar. A bit high, by winter time can be more problematic,

2. Oil temperature on cruising 5000rpm goes up to 115*C on level flight around 3000ft. Just day before (similar OAT's) I had around 100-110*C.

It can be, that increased pressure makes less time for oil to cool down in cooler ?

I not really know also why pressure jump is so high, oryginal washer is 1,5mm, probably I should modyfy it and make around 1mm.

Did you confirm the instrument pressure with a different mechanical gauge? If not you shouldn't have installed the oil pressure shim. Most times low oil pressure is just the sender. I would take that shim out until you confirm the real oil pressure. Since it was indicating a low pressure you could be over pressured now. If you do not have the newer style oil pressure plug screw you absolutely need to get it and while you're at at replace the stock ball bearing with the mushroom style oil pressure regulator. I would bet you also need a new oil pressure sender. Do the sender first and see if it corrects your problem.

Oil flow does effect temp. Slow an oil flow and the temps will climb.

Last time I had problem of low oil pressure on hot oil (around 2bar) so I installed rotax washer/shimm under regulator spring.
With washer I had up to 7 on cold and then around 5 bar on hot (high, low rpm simillar).

Today I did short flight, on runup I had around 7 for a moment and pressure decreased down to 5 during flight (hot oil). But when I retarder RPM to ~2000rpm oil pressure drops now down to 2bar!!, increase when I'm increasing RPM.

What it can be? I confirmed last week pressure reading with mechanical gauge, today this behaviour started just by itself. Movie.

Hi. By mistake i started new thread instead continue this one. Now i have new interesting oil press fluctuation. I had problem with old sender so i co firmed pressure and install new type sender and new gauge. Here i'm sure that indication is ok.
I ordered also now muschroom and new spring. Take a look for my video from new thread. A few hours it was ok, now i have frop of 3 bar when go to idle.

Ok, yesterday I installed new style regulator, without shimm and now looks much better. I have around 3 bar all of the time. Still when go from high to low rpm there are some fluhtuactions but I think it's normal. On cruise 3 bar, on low rpm 3 bar. I will try to replace ball with muschroom when I will get it, maybe will be more smooth.

Usually on first start you may get a higher oil pressure which settles to a lower number after the engine warms. Some small fluctuation from idle and higher rpms is normal.

Hi
I changed the oil two weeks ago with AeroShell SPORT PLUS 4, but oil temp is reach 130 c ( cht is normal ) and oil pressure is normal around 4000 rpm but is low at idle ,
It usually 120 c while claiming but as soon as I fly level , it comes down to around 100 , but now it's not coming down easily , any suggestions?

Thank you

Same here. Changed to ASSP4, now oil temperature is higher by at least 15°C, CHT is normal, cannot find any other problem, oil pressure is normal, can't finf blockages in the sytem, turbo charger is good.

Installation is on a Autogyro MTO Sport.

Hi Saeid,
Things to look at;
Make sure the oil tank is full. Then make sure you have no oil hoses that have a bend are fully open and not partially closed due to the bend. I just had one in the shop that had a reduced radius. I placed a 1/2" OD spring in the hose at the bend and the problem went away. There is a possibility that the oil cooler needs cleaning. Some fluctuation in pressure can happen between idle and high rpm. Both the oil pressure fluctuation and the temp can be affected by a poor ground wire connections (earthing). Either a loose screw or some corrosion under a screw.
If on the ground the oil fluctuates around 15-20 psi from high rpms I would look for that poor ground connection.
If you have the old oil pressure plug screw and ball bearing I would upgrade to the new style oil pressure plug screw, a new spring and new style oil pressure regulator. (The mushroom :))
