What is an iRMT?
• An iRMT is an Aircraft Maintenance Technician with a Rotax
“Endorsement” or “Rating”

• Gives A&P’s the FAA required experience and training to work
on Rotax powered LSA and certified aircraft.
Who should be an iRMT?
• Technicians wanting to increase their customer base to include
the Rotax powered aircraft.
• A&P/AME/AI/ Light Sport Repairman wanting to meet the
requirements of the FAR 65.107 sub (d) for
pre-requisite
experience in specific maintenance tasks.
• FBO technicians who see the increasing LSA market as an
opportunity to promote their facility as a high
tech business.
• LSA OEM technicians who want to provide better service to
their customers
• LSA importers who want to provide better service to their
customers.
How to become an iRMT?
If you meet the following requirements you can receive the iRMT
Certificate with the appropriate rating shown:
“Maintenance” rating:
• Current holder of a license or certificate issued by your
countries Aviation Authority. Or a Light Sport
Repairman Certificate holder.
• Successful completion of an Authorized Service
course.
• Successful completion of an Authorized Maintenance
course.
“Heavy Maintenance” Rating:
• Current holder of an A&P/AI/AME license or equivalent license
issued by your countries Aviation Authority.
Or a Light Sport
Repairman certificate holder.
• Successful completion of an
Authorized Service
course.
• Successful completion of an Authorized Maintenance
course.
• Successful completion of
an Authorized Heavy Maintenance
course.
• Proof of adequate technical experience to a level deemed
appropriate to support the rating.
• Letter of recommendation from
an Authorized independent Rotax Maintenance
Technician (iRMT) with
"Overhaul Rating" or Authorized Rotax Technical Instructor (RTI).
“Overhaul” Rating:
• Current holder of an A&P/AI/AME license or equivalent license
issued by your countries Aviation Authority.
Or a Light Sport
Repairman certificate holder.
• Successful completion of
an Authorized Service
course.
• Successful completion of an Authorized Maintenance
course.
• Successful completion of
an Authorized Heavy maintenance
course.
• Successful completion of
an Authorized Overhaul course.
• Proof of adequate technical
experience to a level deemed appropriate to support the rating.
• Letter of recommendation from an Authorized independent Rotax Maintenance
Technician (iRMT) with
