Where/how do I send it?
Fill in the online form and click on the “Submit” button. The form will be automatically submitted (or) print out the form and Fax to 250-260-6269

Will I get warranty coverage?
The SIR form is not a warranty claim. Although the information used to complete the SIR form is also required to successfully complete a warranty claim this must be done separately through your local Rotax distributor.

Why do I have to fill out unrelated things like propeller model?
The SIR form is used to convey the details of problems found in the field to the manufacture. When a problem arises it is necessary to obtain background information so that common factors can be identified. This is why the form needs to be completely filled out.

Will I be contacted after I submit the SIR?
Once submitted the SIR form is evaluated and processed as required. The submitter of a SIR will not receive a response from R.O.A.N. unless further information is needed. SIR reports that require follow up service will be directed to your regional Authorized Rotax Distributor.

I am not sure if I should submit a SIR, what are the criteria?
Any failure, defect, or malfunction that is likely to affect safety and correct operation.

You do not need to submit an SIR if:

1. The problem is already addressed by way of a Maintenance Manual, Service Bulletin, Service Instruction, or Airworthiness Directive

2. The problem was a result of human factors (such as improper maintenance or operation) contrary to flight and maintenance instructions.

I just have a small problem, should I send in a SIR?
If the problem is not a safety concern (see criteria) an SIR is not needed. If you need help in solving a technical problem see our Support page to contact your Regional Authorized Rotax Distributor, Service Center, Repair Center, view our online Tech Support or see our list of iRMT’s for assistance.
