Hey all,
I have an old 377 with 25hrs on it since rebuild. I recently repitched my prop. Now WOT is about 6600-6700. It runs great. EGT is about 1200-1250 at WOT and drops down to 1100 at about 6200 rpm. I only climb very breifly at WOT then drop it down. But when I drop the throttle to about 5600, the engine drops rapidly to 4600. I cant really get it to run anywhere between 4600 and 5600. It will speed up or slow down to those rpm with a very slight throttle touch. Im guessing a carb issue? At 4600 EGT is about 950-1000

I would be most suspicious of Carb issues, in particular the jet needle and needle jet.

I would definitely check your throttle cable set up and look at the piston/slide of your carbs and spring.
