I have a blue head 582 on my Flight star which has 222 hrs on it. Runs great with good comp [120#] on each cyl. Here is my question I have to use a leaner setting on the mag end cyl. to get my egt temp to run together at cruise rpm [5000] about 1100 degrees. Plugs look good have the front needle set in the 3rd grove, mag end is in the 2nd groove. I had a 618 a few years ago with the same deal. Am I concerned about nothing? Thanks Lynn

Hi dont rely on the gauges they could be reading wrong have them tested and the probes .
l have had my egt 0ne read 1100 and the other read 800 only to find out it was not the engine but the
    senders.

Thanks, I had thought of that but both plugs look great so I put that on the back burner for now. Probably go ahead and order some new probes to find out for sure Lynn

Is it possible to swap senders for one cld to the other and see if the fault goes along with the swap,

Another thing that may need attention is the carb balance...when was it done last,

I presume you have checked for air leaks and that all the jetting and needles are the same spec, maybe a compression check while your at it,

How much difference was there between the 2 readings.

    Nick.

I just thought about switching the probes next time out will try that. Carbs were just balanced @ jets are what rotax calls for. It runs great with both plugs looking good. Going to try switching probes tomorrow. Thanks for all the help. Lynn

I switched the probes and appears the difference is in the probe or gauge. I ran another compression test and front cyl was 100# and rear was 130# so may have a teardown coming soon. Engine is over 5 yrs old with 230 hrs. Thanks for info. Lynn
