My 503 CHT seem at bit on the cool side.

Since I fitted a brand new out of the box 503 last summer I have noticed the CHTs seem a bit cool...140/150c,

The book suggests normal 180-220c,

Should I be bothered by this.

Yes, I think you should be bothered by it Nick. Is the 503 free to air or fan cooled?

Sorry I should have said...its fan cooled,

Both CHTs read the same temps...as do both EGTs at 625c in the cruise at 5000rpm,

With average UK OAT of around 15c.

The engine is fitted to a trike.

I would be interested in anybody else's CHT figs when flying if you run a fan cooled 503 and the type of a/c...ie fixed wing or trike ect.
