I have a question and thought I'd get some input. I'm running a
challenger 2 with a 503 rotax. Today when I powered up to take off, it
would not go full power on the RPM'S. so after turning around on the
runway I tried again and on the second try I had full power and RPM'S
were normal. Then it ran smoothly for about 30 mins in the air and then
after landing I powered down (pulled throttle all the way back) and it
wanted to die but it didn't. So I powered up again and then powered down
and it tried to die. Not sure what to think. The week before this
happened I powered up running down the airstrip and right before take off
the engine surged for a split second, so I noticed the fuel lines had air
bubbles and ordered a new fuel pump. After replacing the fuel pump, Fuel lines, air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs. I
thought everything was going to be ok but then this happened. Do you have
any suggestions?

It does sound fuel related...so many things it could be though.

You have fitted a new fuel filter and that would have been the first thing I checked.

I wonder...do you have one of those hand squeeze primer bulbs fitted...the valve can stick in those causing fuel starvation...I chucked mine in the bin.

Sticking needle valve can cause such probs and not easy to tell by looking at it if its at fault.

Not a bad idea to carry out a full carb strip.

    Nick.
