Every year, during scheduled maintenance, we measure the tolerance of the big-end and piston pin bearings.
We do this from outside the engine, via a sparkplug whole, using a micrometer.

A few years ago, when we started, we measured 0.03mm and 0,035mm.
Over the years (5 years or so) now it has increased to 0.045mm and 0,05mm.
The engine has appr. 450h now.

We did a similar measurement on a rather new engine and it measured 0.07mm on both pistons.

Does anybody know what the max. tolerance can be?
