Yes, I saw the picture of the airplane and it's clear it has a swiveling nose. However, depending on how the rudder pedal are fixed to the airframe and the load path from engine mount to firewall and fuselage, you may still have the torque kicks induced by water drop ingestion crossfeeding to the pedals.
Aircraft like the Escapade tend to have quite light structure which can easily transmit engine/propeller related vibration everywhere in the airframe.
Checking carburetor sumps for presence of water is something quick and easy.
If you find water then the next question you have to answer is where the water is coming from.
