Question about balance counter weight, installing a new E prop, which is 9 pounds lighter than the current prop. Is it possible to add counterweight to the two holes on the side of the gearbox shown in picture. Not sure if I want to add mass to the engine gearbox, seems like that may cause other problems. Thanks for your input.

What makes you think that the reduction in weight will place the aircraft out of balance?

You may just find that your cruise elevator position will change slightly.

I am already close to the rear of my cg limit so if I take weight off the front and use the baggage area behind seat cg will be out of limit to the aft.

    Wow! What sort of aircraft?

    I hate dead/ballast weight.

Can you relocate the battery to a more forward position? (reduce cable length for better current transfer/starting)

If a nose wheel aircraft, can you upgrade the tyre to more ply's/weight? (may reduce chance of puncture)

If nose wheel without fairing, can this be added? (bonus speed).

If you really need to move weight forward, try and make it something that will benefit the aircraft/systems.

What is he point in making a super light prop, if you then have to add ballast, to make up the lost weight?
