Hi Jim
"Have a dynamic prop balance done, it’s good for your aircraft and will provide an accurate prop rpm for comparison."
Not long had one done - never thought to ask about the Dynavibe RPM reading, compared with my Dynon

Hi Tim,
Have printed out your advice and will compare with Dynon recommended procedures - thanks.
Yesterday, adjusted Dyno RPM reading, to be the same as Airmaster RPM.

Yup once you have the prop rpm then just multiply the rpm number by your gear box reduction number to derive engine rpm. I usually do an engine tach check of three points each year as a part of my prop balance, idle, 3,000, and WOT

Hi Jim,

I would have expected a check at prefered cruise setting (5200 rpm?) and at Max Continuous (5500 rpm).
How does tach accuracy (assuming not grossly out) help beyond this?😈
