That’s an interesting perspective but it complicates the interpretation of the published operating limits. For example the minimum oil pressure is listed as 0.8 bar (11.6 psi). The absolute pressure sensor will typically be reading 14.7 psia with engine not running. Certainly these published limits are intended as gage readings and not absolute. Should we just offset the scale in the engine monitor by 14.7 to account for this?

I believe scaling and offset will be automatic if you select the proper sensor from the list in your engine monitor. This will set the gauge scaling based on 4-20 MA, even though the sensor output is actually 0-20 MA. Essentially, the gauge will ignore the sender until it reaches 4MA. So it will read zero (+- a couple PSI) until the output of the absolute pressure sender reaches 4 MA, which happens about 12 or 13 PSI absolute. So this negates most of the difference in absolute and gauge pressure.
