I have a 912ULS and it has a barbed fuel fitting on the fuel block for fuel return to the tank.  All my other fuel hoses are Teflon stainless-steel braided with AN fittings and covered with firesleeve.  Any suggestions for a hose to use? Hose clamp?  I suppose I could replace the banjo/barbed fitting on the fuel block with a banjo/AN fitting?

Thanks!

Gates make excellent fuel hoses of various standards (carburettor/fuel injected).

You need to know the OD of the barbs to select the best hose size (ID) for the job.

The hose ID should be the same or slightly smaller (never larger) than the OD of the barb.

If you have chosen the correct hose, it should not leak. If hose leaks at barb - you have selected the wrong ID for the job.

When ever possible cut the hose so that on installation ALL of the barb is covered.

If hose between fixed part of aircraft to engine - allow sufficient length to accomodate engine movement.

Secure with clamp designed not to damage hose eg fuel injection clamp.

Clamp need only be firm - do not overtighten. The clamp is for security not leak prevention.

Support long hose length  with cable ties or similar.😈

I use Gates Barricade fuel hose. It can be purchased locally. I use Oetiker clamps to secure the hose over the fittings and always put fuel and oil hose in fire sleeve. The hose doesn't have to be anything super special. The Gates hose is fine with ethanol fuels too.
