I see in the recent 912 OM update we’re back to the max rpm drop of 300 per circuit/115 rpm difference between the two ignition modules. So should I disregard the 500 rpm drop that appeared in the previous edition or is this a misprint?
There’s no change bar in the margin.

Also in Chapter 4 it states to adjust throttle to 2,500 rpm as soon as engine runs. But under engine warmup it states to adjust rpm to 2,000 for approximately two minutes then go to 2,500. Preceded by a warning that failure to do so could result in very bad things. Which process is correct?

It used to be 2K rpm now they want it higher. It won't hurt the engine, but will reduce wear and vibration during warm up. 500 rpm was too high.

I've just downloaded the new OM. That is very confusing about the warm up rpm.

I also note that on p 2-11 under approved fuels, for Avgas it only lists 100LL. I thought UL91 and 94 were approved?

91 octane or higher is fine

Thanks Roger.  So we should just refer to the current SB on fuels and ignore the new OM? And can you shed any light on the airbox penalty that just befell all of the owners that did not opt for the K&N air filters? Are they supposed to install some sort of air box temp gauge now? Who even makes those? Or is it just a 100 hr/12 month check? If so, what’s the cost for the special tools to do so that just landed in everyone’s lap?
