I have a 914 with MT constant speed prop electric (which is a bit slow).   When I do my static run up checks at full 115% power, the revs sometimes just exceed 5800, say 5880 (on FlyDat and dial rev counter) for a few seconds until the prop controller takes charge, inreases pitch and reduces the revs to around 5600-5700.   But, if I try to remove this I will have to adjust the prop low pitch stop so that the low (takeoff) pitch is too high to allow 5800 to be reached in the cimb, so limiting climb performance.    I have checked both rev counters and they are accurate.   The engine is fine and all temps well within limits, but of course I get "Service" on the Flydat.

Does this matter?; any advice / experience please?

I am relativly new to electric CS props (Airmaster/912ULS) so my observations may be incorrect.

I do my static run up with my Airmaster in Manual mode, Full Fine at 4000 rpm.

I Coarsen my pitch to achieve approximately  3500 rpm &  then switch to Automatic Take Off mode.

If prop working correctly, rpm will return to 4000rpm.

I do not do a WOT static except when aircraft tied down to check Airmaster settings in TO/Climb/Cruise.

If your MT is delivering WOT 5600-5700 rpm Static, I feel certain it will achieve a higher rpm as it accelerates in TO & Climb Out. 😈

If you are getting 5800+ on a static run up then you will probably exceed 6000 when in motion. My recent static run was 5200 and in motion 5550. 914 with Whirlwind CS hydraulic.

Have you asked MT? Do they have anything to say about the correct high rpm setting for your engine? Have you asked them about the overshooting rpms?

    "....overshooting rpms"

In the Airmaster system this may be due to fine pitch stop adjustment and/or the computer settings need tweaking.😈
