Mushroom part 817-417
Guys need help because I don't know what to do now! I got an old 912, serial 4152479, got an CDI problem not working but after troubleshooting, we find out that the power from one of the charging coils was not there, thought was a CDI but after switch the red wire to the suspect bad CDI surprising was working fine. The bad one charging coil on the stator was the cause. Ok, this the part of my tragedy, I loan the puller part # 877375 and the mushroom part # 877-417 and the locking pin; I install the locking pin as instructed by the Rotax Heavy Manual chapter 74, so far so good, install the mushroom, piece of cake, install the puller as directed and star doing the cranking to push the bolt in to pull the flywheel out, I'm a 70 years old pilot, old car mechanic but what happens after I do not have explanation: I used a torque bar to turn the bolt in, expecting to have the stator flywheel out, I saw a YouTube video #2, from Jim, with an old 912, removing the flywheel out, and I said easy Weese, That was a mistake saying that, because after pushing the screw almost in (one inch the head of bolt out) I realize something was terribly wrong not as easy as in Jim video experience, After removing the puller out, I found out that the long bolt in the puller was broke in 2 parts inside the puller plus the mushroom someway got also inside the puller all mess up. Thanks to the Lord that the crankshaft thread was not damaged neither the flywheel thread where the puller is screw in. I do not know what to tell Lockwood about this, but my question is all the 912 old or new use the same mushroom part 877-417 or my old engine use an old type of mushroom because the flywheel does not move a bit.
Thanks in advance for all fellows that can help me on this!
Pastor Luis
