912s use of fuel with ethanol.

How do the Rotax 912s engines handle 91 octane fuel with ethanol? It's getting almost impossible to find 91 octane without ethynol. If it's bad, what is the best alternative?

Hi Lynn,

91 oct. with ethanol is no big deal. Many try to make it a big deal, but it isn't for the engine. Just make sure your fuel tanks are ok with it. Rotax has in writing up to 10% ethanol is ok and people in other places in the world use it at even higher concentrations. many 912 users have been using it for many years with no issues. If your fuel tanks are okay with it then it's by far a better choice for the average flyer than 100LL with its leading issues.

I'm pretty new to owning my RV-12 with a Rotax 912 ULS. I used 100LL when I first got the plane, then switched to MOGAS with no ethanol when I learned the engine could handle it. I want to just use the regular premium gas from my local station (with ethanol) but my question is:

How do I know if my fuel tank and lines are 'ok' with it?
