my 912s is burning around 4 gallons of fuel per hr. It is on a powered pc what is most likely the problem.

    John,

I would guess that your cruise RPM is pretty low on a PPC. Have your carbs been synched lately? The lower the RPMs, the more critical it is to have well synched carbs. If your cruise RPM is below 5000, this could be part or all of the problem. Has the consumption problem always been there or is it a recent problem? how are your EGT temps? If they are excessively low you could be running too rich.

    Bill.

    Hi John,

If you are running 3500 rpm then 4 gph is a lot, but if you are running 4700 rpm in cruise then that is normal.
What are you running for rpm at that GPH rate?
What rpm do you use for cruise?
