I posted a message two days ago and it has been mysteriously deleted so I will try this again.

I fly behind a 80UL in my Rans S6. There is an old service bulletin (SB-912-026) that calls for removing and replacing the stator. On page 11 of that SB it shows illustrations of new and old wiring as it comes out of the stator however, there is nothing to say that if one has the new wiring, this SB is not required. Mine matches the illustration of the new type; would I be correct in assuming that the SB is not required?

    Hi John,

It sounds like you're okay, but I would get your engine serial number and check it against the bulletin. As far as changing it out it's kind of like other items, some made the change and some didn't.

    Roger,

My engine serial number is one affected by the SB but could have been done by one of the original owners of the kit. Is there any other way to tell if it has been done? Why did they put the old and new illustrations? Is it possible to send an email directly to Rotax for an answer?
