    Hi Lir,

We need just a tad more info.
Was it running over 5050 before and this is new? Is this 5050 static rpm on the ground? That would be normal or is it at wide open throttle in flat and level flight?
At least for the moment it sounds like it is way over pitched in the prop IF it is at WOT in flat and level flight. Is this a fixed pitch or ground adjustable prop? If it is ground adjustable then maybe all you need to do is reduce the pitch.

    Hi Roger,

the airplane is new for me
according to the previous owner 5050 is what should be the MAX RPM
but i suspect it is to low
i am getting static full RPM of 5050 and i can see it get few more rounds in straight level flight
but it is far from the 5500
is there any documentation for max RPM and manifold base on engine prop combination ?

i am using GT prop fix pitch (not adjustable) Diameter =166 pitch = 145
engine has 900 h since new
    gearbox is 2.27:1
    thanks

    Lir,

Something isn't quite right. Your static WOT rpm on the ground will be lower than it is in straight and level flight at WOT. They both can't be 5050 with a fixed pitch prop.
