    Good video. Now I have a question. If the engine is a year old and less than 100 hours and has fluctuating oil pressuer, should this not be covered under warranty? Mine has always fluctuated (since new). Tested it per the video and the engine oil pressure was fluctuating on the test gage.

    The next question is how do you get Rotax to cover it?

    Go to an authorized Rotax service center mechanic and let him verify the problem. If you are only fluctuating 2 psi then it may be normal. Very few are dead on still. Some gauges are just easier to read and some more sensitive. If it is fluctuating 5psi or more then have him report it to his distributor.

    Hello Roger, I am a A&PIA,DER(ret) and IRMT 912 Maintenance and Service Specialist . I have been working on airplanes and engines for 50 years. I do have calibrated test gages and connected the test gage in accordance with the video. At 2000 RPM the oil pressure fluctuated from 41 PSI to 56 PSI which I would say there is a problem with the oil pressure relief valve. I will admit that other than at the Rotax School that this is my first experience with working on the Rotax engine which is installed in my own PiperSport. This fluctuation of the oil pressure has been prevelent since I bought the plane new a year ago. When you refered to a authorized Rotax service center mechanic, just who would that be; if not me. I do appreciate your comments and input. Thanking you in advance,

    Hi Dick,

    Sorry I missed the IRMT and Rotax trained part.
    Dick have you put the new Rotax oil pressure regulator cone, spring and cap plug in yet?
