    Hi Andre,

    I saw your pictures on the other thread under general discussions. You had detonation. Let's go back to the picture thread for further discussion. It has more information there and be more relevant since you now know why it was rough running.

    Hi Roger,

    This was a picture of a different engine.

    I saw all the comments and you guys had confirmed my suspensions, however, we still need to determine the actual cause of the detonation.

    i bought a carp repair kit for the carps and i overall them and they are perfect now .

    We have a 912 on a tandem gyroplane. Several years ago it started shaking violently on start-up but would then settle down and run smooth. This went on for several weeks until a carb boot broke. Mistakenly thinking it had been leaking all along, we replaced the boot. The engine quit on the ramp just before take-off. When checking for other causes, we discovered that the fuel pressure was "0". We replaced the fuel pump and also added an electric back up fuel pump. This took care of the problem. My guess is that your fuel pump is getting weak. Check the fuel pressure.
