Here's the thing about some oils.
Some aren't as good as others protecting from shear. This causes them to loose some of their protection qualities. As an example if your oil is poor in this ar a and you use a 10-40w then it will reduce its top number from a 40w to a 30w. So if you are using a 10-30w then that can be reduced to a 10-20w. That is too light and too much of a loss in your shear protection. Some ask well how do I know if my oil has good shear properties. You may not know bless you can get a hold of its test numbers.
I posted here quite a while back an oil study by Amsoil. It's getting to be an old study, but it does show many oils that we use today and shows what each oil test and quality means.
It's educational about why we need certain oils and may help in staying away from some that don't help us as well as others.
That said Aero Shell Sport Plus 4 was developed for Rotax and tested with Rotax engines, but if you won't use it for hen go into this with some helpful information.

That one is old and has been superceeded. Those are recommendations anymore. The only actual recommendation is Aero Shell, but if you don't have access to that there are some good substitutes. When using a substitute some caution and research would be prudent in picking one.

I was looking at my spare aero shell 4 container and noticed it did not have a label on it stating what thickness of oil it was! I guess earlier I was assuming it was 20/50? Anybody know what it is?
