Hi all,
I bought a certified Rotax 912 engine from 2001 to use on an uncertified European Class Ultralight (Rans S6-ES).
It comes with a hydraulic governor installed to the prop flange (back of prop gearbox, where the 912UL has a place for a vacuum pump).
See picture below.

I am not going to use the governor. The guy selling me the engine suggested I just safety wired it in "zero", but I wonder if I can just remove the whole unit to get rid of the dead weight?
I can see from a Rotax SB sheet there exist a "governor cover plate", but I can't find any information on how to get one.

Has anyone got any experience with removing a governor and plugging the hole so the oil does not run out?
If it is not possible to remove it, are there any things to consider when not using the governor, just letting it sit there?

thanks,
Ole
