Have searched through the maintenance manual as best I could (over 20 minutes) trying to find the procedure for checking the friction torque on the 80 HP ULS. Couldn't find it, (or maybe didn't recognize it when I did see it?)
Couldn't get the video on this side on that topic to run. Got some error message. :(

Can anyone point me to directions for that check or a video, or both?
Or those directions are simple enough, post them here?

Thanks for your time, help, and consideration.

That's not an error message, it's an advisory ("...a subscription is needed: Click here to subscribe")

To watch the friction torque video, you will need to upgrade to a Annual subscription. When logged in with your free account, you will see an "upgrade" button near the top right of the screen. (Be sure you are logged in to your (free account) before trying to upgrade...)

Do the 912ul 80hp engines have a slipper clutch and require a friction torque test ?
The 100hp 912uls has a clutch and requires the test , I think the 80 hp 912ul does not.

IIRR the slipper clutch was OPTIONAL on the 912ULS and very very few buyers ever got the clutch. Would be rare to find an 80hp with the clutch. Point is, then, that testing and inspection is different on the non-clutch 912. But even without the clutch there's still AFAIK a friction torque test. That's what I was asking about.

I was trying to watch the free preview video on that procedure when I got the error message. Happy to renew my paid membership to, among other reasons, watch the full video of that procedure. But want to first convince myself I don't have some glitch that would keep me from viewing the full one, when I can't even view the sample.

Ah.. got you! The previews are hosted on Youtube, so is it possible you have a youtube blocker on?

(if you are viewing behind a corporate firewall, this may be the case!)

If not you could try a different web browser (we recommend viewing Rotax-Owner with Chrome web browser, for best results), and if that doesn't help there is likely something else gone awry in your system's video viewer.

To test your system's video capability to watch our videos, try watching any one of the Free videos.

    here is an example: http://www.rotax-owner.com/en/videos-topmenu/free-videos/457-loctite-rotax
