Rotax 912 ULS wont rotate by hand

I just bought a 2007 rotax 912 with emaculate records. Last service date was May 2016. It has sat in my garage for 6 months pending install on airplane. Got it mounted last night. Out of curiosity I tried to rotate the engine counter clockwise with some leverage by the prop hub. Moved stiff 1/16th of a turn and then stops hard even with plugs out. I don't want to force anything so I am asking for ideas. Hydrolic lock, clutch, Must be full of oil?

Unlikely I know but has someone left the locking pin in place?

Failing that I would suspect that one of the inductive pick-ups might be impeding the flywheel. Just remove the plastic cover on the back of the engine and have a close inspection with a torch.

The carbon deposits on your pistons may have dried out, flaked off, and fell to the bottom of the cylinder. this WILL stop the piston when turning by hand. Don't laugh; we had one such situation a month ago. Try removing the plugs, make sure intake valve is closed, and blow out contamination with shop air.

I'd use a borescope to check things before I got too excited.
