My Rotax 914 came with banjo fittings (M10 X 1) set up with hose barbs. I would like to replace them so I can use AN-6 flare fittings, but I cannot find the appropriate banjos. Has anyone converted their 914 from hose barbs to flares? If so, where did you find fittings? Thanks.

    Are 10mm and 3/8 banjo fittings are interchangeable? I know that the bolts are different, but what about the banjos? In other words, could I use 3/8 -6 banjos along with the appropriate 10mm X 1 bolts?

    Replace the banjo bolts with AN6 to M10 (9/16x18 to M10x1) flare fitting adapters.

    See the 914 Parts Manual Section 73-10-00, Page 6 and 8.
    Item number 9, Rotax Part number 840770.
    It is a common adapter in the auto race world.
    Rotax $63 = Auto Parts $4

    Search eBay for "AN6 to M10 Flare"

    Re: M10 vs 3/8 Banjoes.

    M10 = 0.394
    3/8 = 0.375

    3/8 is 0.019 smaller
    If you bored out the 3/8 you could make them into M10.
    If your 3/8 is a sloppy fit to begin with, you might get lucky.
    Proceed at your own risk.

    Thanks Bill. Would the threads on the auto race version be long enough to reach? Refer to this drawing that I found of an M10 X 1.0 banjo bolt. It seems the adapters are much shorter than the banjo bolts?

    Completely different animal.
    The Banjo BOLT is REPLACED by the Flare Fitting.
    It just threads into the M10 hole.
    For an example, in the photo see an AN6 Flare on the Left of the Fuel Rail and a Banjo on the Right.
