This picture is of the back of my new engine. The Clamp holding the braided bundle is apparently part of the pick up assembly. If I take off the clamp to relocate the modules will I disturb the pick up? I thought they were a fixed position. So, If I'm wrong, the gap for the pick up will be disturbed. I don't really want to create an electrical problem.

If you are careful, it should not change the adjustment.
Be sure the bolt on the other wing is secure before loosening the clamp.
    Check the Gap afterward.

This isn't much harder than replacing a spark plug.

In any case, this is not something you should be afraid of adjusting.
With the Trigger Cam rotated under the Coil, Placing 0.012 feeler gauge between the Coil and the Cam and pressing Down and Clockwise will set the position while you tighten the screws.

See Section 74 Of the Heavy Maintenence Manual.
