Hey guys,

I really never gave the fact that my 912 UL has no Muffler a second thought. It's a simple left right 2 into one set up with a pipe out each side of the cowl. The thing runs great, zero issues, and the noise isn't bad either. Have never been in any other rotax machine to know what the difference would be with a standard muffler set up. One thing for sure is it's not stainless. Any experience out there with this set up? I was thinking of having my current system re built in stainless, and just keep it the same.. love some advice from the experts out there...

Best

I You sure yours aren't stainless? I haven't seen a 912 engine with just straight pipes. Seems like it would be at least a little loud. Most exhaust pipes and muffler setups are stainless or at least all I gave seen. Maybe in other parts of the world some things are different? You usually need stainless exhaust pipes for the heat characteristics compared to just steel.

Ill get a better shot. But here is all I have for now. It's not stainless unless my magnet is magic.

looks like a 2 into 2 exhaust, not 2 into 1? or you have some crossover outside of the photo?
(A 2 into 2 system is not good: the two adjacent cylinders should never be connected as they would be fighting each others exhaust pulse

    Hey Rob
There is no interconnect between left and right bank. Left jugs both go into a larger diameter collector, and exit out one pipe. So really, the collector is about 3 inches, which is acting like a muffler, with a tail pipe out each respective side. I took some pics this am, but can't seem to post from my phone.
    Thanks for the input!
