Hello All,
I'm a new owner currently in the process of completing a gyroplane kit build with a new 914UL engine. The kit manufacturer has provided a LOP idiot light on the panel and also a pressure switch, FEP N/C with a 0.75-1.05Bar actuation range. This is all good except that I don't have a spare port on the pressure side of the oil pump to mount the LOP switch. The ports on the oil pump are being used by the oil pressure sender (gauge transducer) and the temp sensor.

FEP Low Oil Press Switch:

I'm wondering if Rotax has a 10mm banjo eye fitting that has a female threaded boss (internal threaded nipple) instead of a barb. This fitting to be mounted on the existing 10mm double banjo bolt, adjacent to the turbo oil supply, see IPC 79-20-00-03, items 30 & 31.

Regards,
pmelby

    What kit are you building?
You need to ask the kit manufacturer to give you the details on where they intended for you to install the switch.
That info should be in the assembly manual.

Do you understand that the ports above the input connector of the oil pump are Pressure Out Ports?

Do you have a picture of your Oil Pump?
They come in a lot of variations with unused bosses that can be repurposed.

Hello Bill, thanks for the reply.
The kit is an MTOSport (2010) from AutoGyro Gmbh.
The manufacturer intended to put the LOP in the port where the temperature sensor is located. I prefer to have the temp sensor in the Rotax stock location.

I'll upload pics to a new post as there doesn't appear to be upload controls for this 'Quick Reply' forum interface.

    Best regards,

Here's pics of my oil pump and sensors:

I would like to install the LOP switch in the spare banjo space, so I'm looking for a 10mm banjo eye fitting with a female threaded nipple where i could thread in the LOP switch and seal with a crush washer. If Rotax doesn't have a part like that, I'll try to find a suitable banjo eye fitting on the commercial marketplace.

    Cheers,

What is the large angled cylindrical thing between the oil pump and the gearbox?

    Hello Ken,
That is a pneumatic cylinder/actuator used to engage the pre-rotation mechanism. The pre-rotator is used to spin up the rotor to about 200rpm on the ground prior to the takeoff roll.
