Just did an annual on my Rotax 912UL, all went well except I need to replace one set of floats. After the annual (compression test, oil/filter/plug change), carb float check, my EIS guage won't show an oil temperature over 59. Climbs from 50 to 59 but no higher, pressure and all other readings seem normal.

I also has to take one muffler off to re-weld the engine mount brace to the muffler which meant one of the EGT probes taken off.

Wondering if anyone can provide some guidance on what I can check that may lead to this issue. I see lots of high temperature post but none where the temperature stops reporting at a specific number, for me that number is 59, running up started at 50 and stays at 59.

Thanks in advance for any advice

I would start with checking all wires and their connections. Grounds especially.

Swap the oil temp wire for the CHT wire. They are the same. Start the engine and see if the temp is different. If it acts normal then trace the oil temp wire and any ground.

I could not find a wire connecting to the temperature sensor, turns out while removing the magnetic plug I had to move a plastic sleeve around which disconnected the temperature wire to the sensor and hid the wire in the sleeve. Upon tracing wires found the loose little suck in the sleeve and once put back on everything worked fine again. Thanks guys
