I have a “jittery” oil pressure gauge. This occurred on previous 912ULS and after installing brand new 912ULS it still does it, so I don’t think it can be earthing at the engine end.
Any thoughts appreciated.

It is inherent in the design of the oil pressure relief valve read this.

What type of plane and what type of sender? How old is the engine? Some are because of old senders, some are because of poor grounds or connections and some are from the wrong application selection in the instrument like a Dynon. Had issues lately with Vans RV12's. They didn't connect the third wire. A ground.
It is possible that it could be the old style ball bearing, but you can install the new style mushroom shaped oil pressure regulator. Cheap and easy to try.

It’s a spitfire replica. The engine is 6 months old so has new Seder and oil regulator. But it did the same on the old engine which was 2006 (although it does jump around less on the new engine)

What kind of instrument are you using? If it's the same on two different engines then maybe it's the gauge. It may need a resistor or a different setting.

    It’s a VDO.
