So I have the older ignition modules,(2006)912 uls have had serious hard starting issues when it’s cold ( first start of the day) for several months !  Today was the last straw I have tried several starting procedures, some that have worked others have not it’s been a very hit and miss intermittent problem . I  used to get her to start with the flooded procedure nothing today! I finally gave into the ice theory put the ice on the modules for 30 minutes and it fired immediately ,!!  I think it’s inevitable that I have to change them at this point? at a  thousand dollars a pop times two. Ouch... Question? if I was to upgrade to the soft start newer style modules do I have to change the flywheel ( to what  benefit ) or ? , has anybody made this change?  Would also like to understand what the initial problem is with the rotax ignition modules ( start side?) are they sitting to close on top of the heated engines and they bake Or is it just a bad road text Design , should they be remoted to the firewall or someplace cooler? And last question ? Has anybody had these modules tested and at what cost? Thanks for any help in input ahead of time ,. J
