Hello rotax specialists.

Need help with a problem with my Rotax 912 uls engine. I had a oil leak in one of the oil return tubes for cylinder number one. After resealing this tube, I wanted to torque the cylinders according to the new method published by Rotax. When trying to torque the cylinders, I could not thighten the cyl. number one, because the studs turned inside the crankcase. Can anyone help with a solution to this problem. Picture attatched.

Thank you in advance,

Johann G.

The crankcase Stud can be come out if you use 10mm socket and rotate anticlockwise it will come to outside

Hold the same stud from back side with an other socket  for any free moment.

See the attached picture for clearfaction.

The round circle ⭕ is misplaced.

Use this type of socket above mentioned task.

Normal socket does not resolved the issue.

    Hello Mr. Wang.

I tried to turn the stud counterclockwice to see if it could be re fastened with some thread lock, but it does not come out of the crankcase.

Feels like it is just turning in place. Could the threads be damaged? Does not look damaged on the picture.

    Thank you,

    Johann G.

You need to hold the allen head screw on the other side of the case directly inline with that stud.

    Hello Roger.

Thank you very much for the help. The top right hex nut is inside the gear box housing,( I think the bottom one also) so you say I need to remove the gearbox for this repair?

If I remove the hex nut from the case, do I use a thread lock material to thighten it again? If so, what type?

What is the torque for this nut? 30Nm +?

    Best regards,

    Johann G.
