After market auto spares shops carry a wide range of choke cables.

My last aircraft/912 used a motorcycle choke cable to good effect. This cable has an adjustable friction collar, that could hold the choke at whatever position the pilot required - very useful.😈

Paul, I am not aware of any "swage" at the end of the choke cable. Mine attaches to the choke arm by passing thru a bolt/set screw assembly.

It’s a little off topic, but for those who have not seen this video on twist-welding bowden cables, it’s a nifty trick.  I finish new cables like this and they never fray. Leave an extra inch or so.

    Hi Jeff and all

I try never to remove the cable.  If i have to remove the carb I take the throttle arm off at the nut.  The arm has much less chance of any change compared to the cable itself.  It will greatly reduce your time when you go to balance again, less problems with just fine movements on the cable adjuster rather than the cable pivot lock.

    Cheers

I'm with RW. This is the way I do it too.
