Hello,

I have a query with regards to the Engine 912 Maintenance Manual, Section 05-10-00.

Actually I tried to get in touch with someone from Rotax but i didnt had any feedback.

if anyone of you has any email address and can share it it would be helpful!

The query I would like to raise to Rotax is if they can provide a P/N for each of the following items which require replacement every 5 years. Most of them I have already identify in the IPC but some I wasn't able to locate. For example theO-Ring 44x2 . There is no such description in the IPC. in the IPC

Any help is more than welcome!

The following components and systems must be replaced every 5 years:

• Venting hose of the carburetors

• Diaphragm on both carburetors

• Carburetor sockets

• All rubber hoses of the cooling system

• All rubber hoses of the fuel system

See SI-912-022, latest issue.

• All rubber hoses of the lubrication system which are part of the engine supply volume

and if they are not in the maintenance schedule of aircraft manufacturer

• Connecting hose of the air intake system

• Venting hose of the fuel pump

• V-belt

• Rubber plate (under expansion Tank)

• O-Ring 44x2 (between carburetor socket and intake manifold)

    44 x 2 "O" ring for the rubber carb socket  # 230-290

    or

    47 x 2 "O" ring 230-300   These are the ones I use.

    It's there

    Hi Georgia

The maintenance manual Line is general in nature because there are differences on part numbers dependent on the serial range/years produced.  (912 is slightly different from the 912 engines)  You need to determine the correct IPC to reference as a lot of the parts may have different numbers dependent on the age of the engine.  in some cases parts are superseded to new numbers if they have a change of the part in production.  The description is only a reference so that you can then check the latest part numbers that are needed for your engine at the time you are doing the work.

What tends to be a bit confusing is that the Rotax list only refers to the supply scope of the rubber parts supplied from Rotax.  For other hoses and rubber parts you need to reference your own parts manual for the parts supplied by the kit or aircraft manufacturer.  (OEM parts)

I note on your list you have missed the fuel pump.  Given that there is an internal diaphragm within the fuel pump the pump assembly must be replaced at 5 years.   Be aware that some OEM may change cooling hose configuration to clear mounts or they may change hose fittings.  There are metric on most European sold engines and AN (UNF) on most North American supplied engines.  In the case of pump fittings and hoses this is important to get the right match.

    Cheers.

    Hi Roger,

    thank you for the feedback!

Actually from description and from IPC i thought as well that is P/N 230300. However this P/N in IPC has as description "O-RING 47x2 " and not O-RING 44x2  as is in the Maintenance Manual.

that's why i was trying to get in contact with Rotax to have an official answer...

    Thanks!
