My EFIS will announce that the alternator has gone off line.  Sometimes it will come back and sometimes I must cycle the on/off switch.  If I turn on a light load like nav or strobe lights it will stay on, sometimes not.  I've replaced what I thought might be a defective relay that controlled power to the unit.  It worked most of the time with occasional trips off then on quickly for remainder of the flight.  Research tells me the Ducati Units are flaky.  There are several after market Rectifier/Regulators on the market.  Are they better and worth the expense of installing them??
