My owners manual on the aircraft says
"To stop the 912 IS engine either shutting off both fuel pumps or shutting off both lane A and B will kill the engine."
However, when I do so by shutting down both fuel pumps, the engine sputters and continues to run very very rough. After about 5 - 7 seconds, I killed both lanes as I was afraid of damaging the engine.
Is this normal to have the engine continue to run (and at very low RPM) when both fuel pumps shut off? I expected a quick shut down.
Thanks for help or advise.
(Yes, from now on I will shut down using Lane A and Lane B)
