I own and operate a 912iS engine fitted to aTL 3000. The engine was recently found to have considerable wear in the gearbox. It was not authorised for flight until repaired. 1060 hrs on the engine. Will this meet the conditions for a claim under SL912-is-017 R1?

You could fill in a customer service information report, CSIR, found at the flyrotax.com website. Given that this is well outside the warranty period the best you could hope for in my opinion would be a goodwill claim request with your distributor. The first step is to fill in all you information and submit copies of your engine log book showing your maintenance sign offs to verify work.
A report from your service provider would also help.
