Hi Nicola
The turbo is indeed lower than the oil pump. The oil into the turbo is pressurized and lubricates the centre section of the turbo. It drops into the recovery tank just below the turbo into a sump. The lift from the turbo sump to the pickup point in the scavenge pump rotors is very small. It has never demonstrated any issue even in tests with drones to extreme altitudes. (reference turbocharged ALTUS Rotax powered drone flights, 55,000 feet with 2 stage single turbo and 45,000 with single stage turbo. circa 1997 and 1998)
Cheers
