An engine's lifespan is limited both by hours of operation and calendar age.
My Rotax 912 ULS has a long history, in the course which it had several owners.
The engine's hours I know from the odometer (assuming it can be trusted), but I don't know it's age.
Referring to the engine's serial, I thoroughly browsed both the BRP and Rotax-Owner sites, to no avail.
Mail queries to both BRP and Rotax-Owner were not even dignified with a reply.

Maybe some of you, guys, know where, given the engine's serial, I can find it's year of manufacture.

Thanks
Dov

    Hi Dov,

Call California Power Systems (CPS) (510-357-2403) and ask for Jeremy McGregor. Give him the serial number and he'll take care of you. Tell him I sent you.
You can also try Lockwood Aviation and Leading Edge, but I'm not sure how helpful they will be.
