THROTLE JUCTION BLOCK

I have a brocken throtle cable on one of the curburators but I cannot figure out how to release the cables from the juction block, as I think that all cables need to come loose for the brocken one to be replaced, if it is threaded and try to unscrew the top all the cables are going to be turning with the cup, I have a picture of the unit,
Any assistance will be appreciated,

    Yanis,

    That particular brand of junction block is not designed to come apart easily but it can be taken apart. I couldn't really tell from the photo but I assume that you have a single cable going into one end. First, take the single cable loose at the throttle. Then, If you grip the junction block at the end with two or three cables with vise grips, you can twist out the end with the single cable without twisting the internal cable block. Then you can grip the black part of the end with multiple cables and twist off the red body. Be careful not to grip the red part too tightly except at the very end where the black plastic cap is inside or you might bend it. Once this is done, you can slide the cable housing and junction block parts right down the throttle cable. The difficult part is getting the junction block apart. changing the cables is easy. If you go to the California Power Systems website, they have a much better junction block for about $15 US. The ends are threaded, made of metal, and can be easily taken apart with a wrench.

    Thank you Bill,
    I found the complete set to replace all 3 cables at CPS which will include a new block as you describe it, 2 goes to the curbs and 1 for the oil injector, I will try again to take appart the old block,

    Hi Bill,
    The 2 end black cups I mannaged to get them loose but Unfortunately are solid, whoever did it they pass the cables first through the holes and they solder the stops swage after, the solid part of the outer cover of the cables stops right there just a hair shy from each hole,
    I had to cut the outside of the metal body of the block with with a cuting wheel so I can remove it and free the the 2 ends but there is noway to slide the cables off, I probably have to cut thrue the 2 end cups to free the cables, I stop there as I am waiting to see the new set of cables that I order from CPS I orter part item 7710 with new elbows adjustors etc.
    Wish me luck puting back everything together.

    Yanis,

    Those kits install easily. You will have to take the throttle cable loose in the cockpit and slide the outer cable housing off to get everything apart at the junction block. Once you get the outer cable housing off that end, the end cap and red part will just slide right off that end. Once the red part is off, the cables will come right out the side of the piston that is inside the red part. It's hard to explain here, but you'll see how easy it is when you get the new parts.

    Hi Bill,
    Moment I got your email I went back to the hangar I remove the throtle cable but the dam thing got 1 inch loop solder on the foot throtle and the hand throtle also has a soldered on swage, I am out of luck, for now I guess, Any other ideas?
