Does my 912 have "optional overload clutch"
Serial number 4492427.
Was able to find out SOME of it's history a while back from a Rotax tech back east who kindly looked up some history. (Lost his contact info).
Wanted to get more specs and get on the factory direct-notifications-to-owners-email system so would automatically be notified if some isuess specific to this engine came up in the future, and to get more details.
So tried to register it in my name about 6 months ago via California Power Systems, but they were either unable or unwilling to do so as I have no documentation (other than bill of sale of the aircraft) showing I'm the owner (which of course I am). :( (It was originally purchased from Rotax by Kolb.) So if anyone knows some person through, or way, I can get it registered as mine with Rotax, sure would appreciate info.
But here's my current question:My official/original Rotax manual (ver 94-4, Rev. 6) says it has a 2.237:1 reduction gear (which I guess is standard) but then adds this note --
"Optional: the reduction gear can be provided with an overload clutch."
My _impression_ (and it's only that) is that most(all?) 912s sold in the USA were with the overload clutch. But how can I determine if mine has that supposedly optional feature?
Of can someone simply assure me that all 912s sold in the US since 1994 have the clutch?
