New Rotax Owner (just dropping in to say hi)

Hi Guys,

I'm just checking in for the first time in this forum. I recently bought a 1997 Rans S12 with Rotax 912UL after 15 years on the ground. Loving the plane and loving the Rotax motor. I am attending the maintenance service course on the 16tha and 17th in Chapala Mexico.

I have so many questions about my engine. It all seems to be in order, but the former owner did not keep a very strict logbook....... :(

Any suggestions on where to start?

Hi Federico,

Welcome to the website.

First thing you might want to do is give the engine an annual inspection. Go to the top of the page and click on engine manuals under the support tab and click on the 912 line maintenance manual. This manual will tell you exactly what to do to perform a thorough inspection on that engine.

Thank you bill. I took a service course this weekend and I think it was very helpful. They showed us how to use the manuals and all the basics for this engine.
I will plan to take the next maintenance courses soon.
