I bought a Magni M24 Gyro with a Rotax 914 UL3 engine, delivered in November last year. At the 25 hour service a sheared crankcase bolt was found, a Rotax engineer withdrew one cylinder, replaced the bolt and sleeve, then retensioned all the head bolts to a new lower recommended torque setting.
Later there were excessive metal filings on the magnetic bolt and a new gear box assembly was fitted.
Last week, at 80 hours my engine failed with a heavy misfire (temperatures & pressures normal, no warning lights), but I managed to land safely at a nearby airfield. An engineer friend did a visual check and measured fuel flow and found no problems. We then ground ran to full power with no misfire. I therefore attempted to take off again but on climb out the engine failed again. Fortunately I had space to land. We ground ran to full power again and the engine misfire was evident, at that point the radiator reservoir exploded.
Can anyone make any helpful suggestions as to what my problems might be or had any similar experience?

Today I was talking with a friend that have a Magni M16 and he toll me that the M24 has a problem where the engine are getting overheated because are enclosed and dont get enough air to cool it. Also that the Magni factory knows about this problem.

Could it be possible that the problem you have is because the engine got overheated? Maybe is a good idea you talk with the Magni Factory.

    Good luck,

    Isaac
