Suspect I don't have a problem, but wondered if anyone had a thought.

912 ULS. Runs great. When I shut down, I turn the key first to L, then to R, then to OFF. In the L position, the motor "grumbles" a lot more than in the R position where it sounds very smooth. It doesn't "run rough" in L, it just sounds different and "grumpy".

Anyone have a clue what might cause the difference between L and R? 167 hours on the motor. Installed new plugs within the last 50 hours which did not change the L "grumble".

Again, I don't think I have a problem, but if there is a tweak to be done, I would love for this thing to run perfect.

    Hi Tom

When you do a mag drop, you are running on the top set of plugs or the bottom set.

Because the top and bottom plugs are positioned in different places in relation to the bowl shape of the cylinder head, one set of plugs will be burning more efficiently than the other and this is what you are noticing. Thats why there is a drop in revs when you switch off one set of plugs.

Its perfectly normal, some may be more noticeable than others. Some may not notice it at all as the engine may be running rougher than it should all the time.
