external alternator

I AM FITTING AN EXTERNAL ALTERNATOR TO MY 914 AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY CHANGES NEEDED TO THE WIRRING FROM THE ORIGINAL GENERATOR OR CAN I JUST WIRE THE ALTERNATOR STRAIGHT INTO THE SYSTEM

    Dedicate the internal generator to the main fuel pump ONLY. Use the 40A only for the buss system (don't try and marry them, you will only introduce problems)
    here is a draft schematic to give you a start; This is a old draft and may not cover every consideration like overvoltage protection. Disregard the circuit breaker size:choose your wire and circuit protection using AC43.13.
