Hello, I am trying to find out if there was a specific “batch” of Rotax 912UL engines that were problematic or should be avoided due to any manufacturer defects? In particular, I’m interested in S/N 440005 and my 912ULS S/N 6779545. I’m also interested in learning all of the SB’s/AD’s that may apply to either of these engines. Thank you very much for any assistance you are able to provide! Jeff P.

To get all relevant documents that may be applicable to your engine, visit our page https://www.rotax-owner.com/en/support-topmenu/service-bulletins

You should search by date of manufacture and engine type, rather than serial number, as some bulletins cannot be qualified precisely by engine serial.
(If you do not know the manufacture date, you can post your serial number on the forum and a tech there can look it up for you in the factory database.)

On the page above, click on search option "By Engine Model" and set the drop-down to your engine type.

    • Leave the button "all Document Types" selected.
    • Tick the box "Select Date Range" and set the 'From' date to the month and year of your engine production date, and the 'To' date to the current month and year.

[li]Then press the Search button to get a full list of links to all the documents you can download.

You can check this list against your engine log book to confirm that all "MANDATORY" Alert Service Bulletins and Service Bulletins have been complied with.

PS: "440005" is not a valid serial number ( must be 7 digits)...

    6779545 was produced 22-Dec-2011
    Engine Type: ROTAX 912 ULS
    Engine Version: 912 ULS2
    Model Number: 309120110

    Original Factory Configuration:
    with fuel lines
    UL2 I=2,43 with clutch
    without vacuum pump
    with green valve covers
    without mech. tachom. pick up
    without external generator
    without air guide baffle
    with std. temperatur sensors
    with screw connection UNF
    with expansion tank
    without air box
    without engine truss
    starter large

Thanks very much! You guys are an awesome resource. Sorry about that missing digit - looks like I need to figure THAT out. And thank you for the link to all of the various service advisories. That is going to be very useful!
