Both modules 912 ULS; 2006 plane at 650 hours. Gradual deterioration in performance (from around 500 hrs). Apparently one fails, then the other giving the impression they both go at the same time, in both cases its gradual, sometimes it will, sometimes it wont start. The later becoming more frequent until it just won't.

Aware of two other 912ULS planes experiencing similar symptoms.
Around £1200 UK for 2 units (around $1500 USD) in the UK.

Yes Colin that is one of the problems we have found too the caps break down inside a friend has worked out a way to check caps out put value using a meter with them still on th plane .. The caps they use only have 80c deg temp rating they could have spent another dollar of two for a 100 deg cap when manufacturing them .

I am told to expect 30 days for replacement modules. Add to that the time it took to identify the likely problem, send them for a bench test, and you are grounded for several weeks.

Yes, I have replaced both modules on my 2006 engine at around 400 hours. It was just like Colin described.

This is what inside a 912uls 6 pin module ,this one the two fet chips have been removed where the 2 holes are before this photo was taken . On this unit a fet had blown making unit total dead ,but the normal problem is the orange thing which is the main out put discharge capacitor gets weak so then hard starting follows .
